Any NYCers out there who have struggled to run NYRR events because of this?
I understand races selling out means NYRR has a good product, but it's sort of a vicious cycle...if you want to run a race you have to sign up 6 months in advance, then others feel THEY have to sign up early and the sellouts just keep coming earlier and earlier.
Now if you want to run the club points series you have to shell out hundreds of dollars months in advance and hope you can be there on the day.
I'm sure the no-show rate is very high.
The two main problems seem to be the 9+1 program and the limit on field size.
Would be great to start a discussion on this to see if anything can be done.
