I have been using a really good private coach since the beginning of the summer. My team doesn’t do summer practices and my coach doesn’t track what we do or give us much of a serious plan or anything, so I thought getting a private coach would be a good idea.
The thing is, now I don’t want to go back to my HS coach. I don’t want to go back to never doing threshold/tempo work EVER, never doing fartleks, and only doing the same few hard intervals in August and throughout the entire season over and over.
I know that my HS coach probably won’t approve and my teammates won’t either, but I really want to be the best I can be and that is not possible with my HS coach. This is an important season for me and all I want is to first stay healthy and then to run good times under actually good training.
What do I do?
