There are only 27 entries in the quota, just about anyone qualified will run. Not many people run a fast 10,000m if they don't intend to try and qualify for worlds, so if they qualified they'll be there. With the exception of injured athletes, and maybe a couple of the people who qualified by their cross country ranking, they may not be interested in getting lapped by the fastest guys in the world on the track. I predict only 3 of the 8 cross country qualifiers will be in the top 20 at worlds (out of 27), mainly because a better athlete will aim for the fences, blow up, and drop out.

Aren't these the usual scratches?
USA team: Kincaid, Klecker, McGorty slips in due above explained scratches, but...
in a gesture of sportsmanship that will be remembered for about 6 hours, he passes on his spot so his Canadien-American elliptical teammate can run.
Kincaid, Klecker, Fisher.
8 spots will be cross country no matter what, there aren't 'scratches' that would allow other track qualifying athletes in. So it will just be different cross country people if any of the ones who could run pass it up. I don't think many of the 16 ish athletes are injured and cannot run. Fisher seems to be trying to keep his fitness, he has the standard and McGorty isn't ranked high enough (even with a couple guys with the standard opting out) so I imagine Fisher will get the nod if he thinks he can/should run with his injury.
