Good one Malmo. Damn that Edwin Moses was so graceful over the hurdles and then all that overdistance work he did he just did not tie up at the end at all. Paul Cummings also in that 1500m. That guy had talent. Steve Scott pretty young there I think. Great race.

Better video quality than half the sh*t that flotrack/ milesplit puts out nowadays. Is there a full race video anywhere, or is that it?

Looks like it was shot on film, probably 16mm. And this image is a quality transfer to video. A lot of the stuff I see on youtube of old races is stuff from people’s old degraded VHS tapes of old standard definition broadcasts. Old VHS looks like garbage.

In 77 myself, Scott and Liquori did a shakeout session before World Cup. We ran 200 (30.9), 400 (59.4), 600 (1:29.8), 400 (58.8). Then Scott asked us if we minded if he lets it out a bit on the last 200m? Sure we said, appreciating him for giving us fair warning. Marty and I ran 200 (25.4). Scott ran 23.5. Holy shi/te! We just shook our heads in laughter.

The camera didn't miss anything. Its a Reuters historical video snippet.

And if god himself was the cameraman (or women) he (or she) did a terrible job for not showing the guy who sets a new world record during most part of the race.
