Hey! I have a friend who likes to lift weights, but does not do any running training.
He is in pretty good shape from a bodybuilding perspective.
We did a test yesterday, where he ran a 56 second 400m without any preparation, in horrible shoes (like sneakers for lifting weights).
Would it be fair to assume that this seems to indicate some great natural ability?
How fast can he potentially run if he trains specifically for this over a certain period? We're interested to find his natural limit before he gets too old and the time for PR's is over.
What would you guys suggest for further finding out more about his natural aptitude?
If he trained for 3 months for this, what would he need to run in order to support the claim that he has some natural talent?
He is 27 years old.
