Jakob vs Warholm in 1000m Hurdles Race

I was thinking Jakob wins by like 15 seconds without the hurdles but that the hurdles would make it much closer.

That race would be horrible. The 400m hurdles are bad enough let alone two and a half laps of it. I think Warholm wins because without good technique it doesn't matter so much about speed.

Jakob steepled when he was younger; the hurdles likely would be at that height. Adding the hurdles turns it 'aerobically' into a higher distance race (likely somewhere between 1500 and 3000).

So the premise is "would Jakob or Warholm win in a 1500?"

Warholm might have a chance at 800m hurdles if it's as high as for the 400. That would be hilarious to watch Jakob struggle with every hurdle.

Well your last point is palpably false. Jakob would destroy Warholm in a 1500m race. If your point were true then Jakob would defeat Warholm in a 600m hurdles race. We know this is not true.

Is this a serious question? Jakob ran 8.26 in 3.000 steeple in 2017 and qualified - and participated - in the world championship. You think Warholm would beat him over 1.000 meters? Are you crazy?

There’s a HUGE difference between 400 and 1.000 meters, both with and without hurdles.

So Jakob loses by like maybe 7 seconds at 400m hurdles? What happens at 800m hurdles?
