It seems there are a few on both the men’s and women’s side that are head and shoulders above the rest. We have seen this before, but these “super dopers” tend to avoid repeated all time performances to remain under the suspicion radar. This has all gone out the window and Jakob is a perfect example. No doubt a child prodigy, his running in the last few years has reached levels that only doped to the gills East Africans and a particular Moroccan have reached. This fearlessness to effortlessly shatter records, and brag about it gives off the impression they are unafraid of being caught. Could this new undetectable method be vulture blood? Nordic countries have been finding new ways to dope for decades, their dominance in skating and cross country skiing can be given a quick glance to find extensive PED usage. Makes sense for the Ingebritsen crowd to find something new.

Funny troll post, but since I'm of the belief that all (or nearly all elites dope) let's take it seriously for a minute.

From your vulture blood article, this type of Hgb has a stronger affinity for oxygen. That means the blood cells will hold on to oxygen more strongly and won't release it to the tissues, i.e., muscles and heart, as readily. (Human fetuses have hemoglobin with this same propensity, but goes away after birth). Physiologically keeping the oxygen unreleased and unused in the red blood cells, wouldn't help you perform better, I don't think. Unless you are a vulture flying at 33,000ft (11,000m), of course.

Even if it was the right kind of hemoglobin, injecting it wouldn't work. Being a different species would cause a severe and fatal transfusion reaction. And eating it, wouldn't work either since protein like hemoglobin is digested by enzymes in the stomach and it would be degraded.

That being said, it still wouldn't surprise me if athletes' coaches and doctors somewhere are experimenting with inventing different forms of blood, hemoglobin, myoglobin or muscle tissue, perhaps genetically engineered, to mimic that of certain faster animals. The ones backed by multimillion dollar corporations could potentially do something like that. In fact, I'd be surprised if they weren't at least trying.

Prominence of Norwegian middle distance and distance athletes??? Who, who, besides Jakob Ingebrigtsen and Narve Gilje Nordaas? And the answer is, if you do not take some thriathletes into account?

Now for the sake of your argument, the science makes sense and it’s very possible (Likely) that people are looking in to the animal world for any performance enhancing characteristics that we can exploit…. The Ingebritsens are likely on the forefront of this.

That being said, a fundamental flaw exists in your argument. Birds do not have blood (or hemoglobin). They are controlled by rudimentary computer systems and mechanized movements..they are frequently observed recharging at night in government controlled nests. In this case…. Jakob must be a state sponsored project to prop up Norwegian culture. (They’ve done a beautiful job). Obviously this puts him above the Norwegian anti-doping agency so he will never be caught and we may never actually know. Vulture Blood smoothies would be a good PsyOp to distract us from state sponsored doping.

there is defenitily something new out there this year but they all benefit from it. So many WR beaten and fast races can't be coincidences.
