we had a ~5 hour team bus ride so I opened up my computer and went to the message board after doing a bit of work. one person saw it and made a joke about it but that was it. I saw him on the forums the same bus ride
I remember sitting on the back row at USATF Level 2 school. About 400 people in the room. I could count the number of browsers not logged into Letsrun on 1 hand.

Have you ever been caught browsing this site in public? If so, what is the reaction you typically get? And what’s the best response?
The public doesn't know or care about LR. But I've been caught by my girlfriend, and, as a runner, she knows about LR enough to give me negative reactions.
Of course but both carry negative stigmas (calling someone a LRC poster is almost a pejorative) and both poison your mind
You need to get out the running world for a while, and experience any highly used forum that touches on politics and social issues, and it is just as bad or worse than LR. Even major sites that allow comments have comment sections that are far worse than LR. This place is not noteworthy in either its content or vivitrol. That is not a good sign for the world, but don't fool yourself into thinking this place is special, or that things happen here that aren't common elsewhere.

My doctor's have me on vivitrol.
I was caught on letsrun at Starbucks. A crowd gathered quickly thinking I was on Al Gore's original internet website.
Amazed I never got told to knock it off at work quite honestly.
Ha! Several years back, a younger co-worker asked me if the LRC message board page up on my browser was a work tool he didn’t know about. Pretty sure it was a sincere question since he probably saw the yellow and gray rows up on my computer frequently , and it may have had that familiar outdated tech look, like some of our risk management or trading systems!
Yes. I noticed the IP address of some of Boulder coffee shop and climbing gym in Boulder banned from posting at letsrun
Proof that the pros come on here all the time and often post stuff they shouldn't out of jealousy or to out someone who wronged them.
The proper response is as follows.
"Wow you post on LetsRun?" "Yes I do. I'm one of the best track and field fans in the world. And I love the non-track talk stuff too. I'm a big believe in the first ammendment and in today's world, the algorithms and fox news and msnbcs of the world only give you the news you want to see. It's good to be challenged by the other side."
