Who needs the Standard?

Clayton Murphy is a big one. WCS for the men’s 800 is 1:44.70 & he is at 1:44.75 this year.

Isaiah Harris also. He’s at 1:45.11 this season.

Natasha Rogers hasn’t met the 10K WCS of 30:40. She has a 30:48ish this year. She is qualified in the 5, though.

Yea, am I thinking of the 5 and 10K with all the runners without standard? Cranny yes, Kincaid im sure...

Hoppel broke 145 only a week or two ago.

be nice to keep tabs over the next 30 days. Sure as hell aint the throwers.

Remember they can get in on world rankings as well. McGorty is very close to getting in on rankings in the 10, but I am not sure what races are coming up that could earn him points even if he doesn’t hit the time standard.

USATF website lists pretty cleanly who has the standard in their results.

Murphy is sure to get in on ranking though, right? I think Harris is might be safe on ranking as well.

Granted there should be high standards to participate in the WC but does anyone think that the WCS for the 10,000 is too stringent?

For the men it is 27:10. Only 7 guys in the world have gone under that this year. For the women it is 30:40. Fourteen women have gone under that.

I feel bad for runners like Natosha Rogers & Elly Henes who barely missed meeting the 10K standard. At least Rogers made it for the 5.

The goal was to make it half ranking, half standard but they ruined it with their XC nonsense.

Did you not watch USAs? Krissy Gear ran 10 seconds under the standard to win the SC. Also Natosha Rogers ran under the 5K standard. She does not have the 10K standard though.

Forgot about NR. Good for her. Krissy Gear's finish does not indicate standard at USATF. Although you are right, she should be well under based on 9:23 cut off.

And no, NR does not have the standard in 10k. So my point stands, as another top 3 without a standard.
