I am sort of an unbiased poster but I do find myself rooting for Tuohy on the behalf of the greater good of the sport.
I have a deep relationship with running and when I run I think about Tuohy. She and others give me topics to think about on my runs and I will forever be thankful because of that. I source them for energy.
That said, she is nowhere near done. I havent even seen the result yet due to the disarray in this delivery of results.

isn't she in a base phase now getting ready for xc?? Why would she be in contention now? I didn't expect her to take it.
Really….. excuses now. Y’all blindly discuss her during NCAAs like she is Pro caliber when she isn’t. Not saying she won’t be. But you don’t elevate others that already are.

Tuohy - 7th, Wiley 5th against better competition.
Tuohy wasn't even the fastest wolf pack runner in the race.

touhy quit the 5k at NCAAs just to be fresh here.
she made a big mistake not going pro. her stock is going down.
She's the returning xc champ, and set the collegiate 3k record just this February. How is her stock down?
In fact the past few months is the only bit of weakness I think we've ever seen in her running and she still took 7th in the entire United states. That is remarkable for a 21 year old going against other pros with years more of elite level training.

Really impressed with her performance.
It was ok - but hardly "done" especially with her strong close (2nd fastest last 200 in the field I believe) so she was not staggering in like she was back in May.

She ran a really good race. 15:15 is a good time. She was only 1 second behind Whitney Orton-Morgan, and she beat Weini Kelati. She was only 7 seconds behind Elly Henes. She did great in a stacked field of pros, who I remind you, have been living the life of pro runners. Tuohy has been living the life of a full time student-athlete. While all of these women were enjoying an off season, Tuohy was running an undefeated xc season. While these women have had days filled with training and recovery, Tuohy has had training, recovery, AND a full time course load. This is not making excuses - it is just stating facts. When Tuohy goes pro, and she only has 2 seasons and nothing but running to worry about, she will no doubt move to another level. College athletes that are coming off 3 full seasons and a full year of school are at a big disadvantage at this meet. Tuohy held her own. 7th in this field is very respectable. She did good.
