In a conversation with somebody close to Grant. The move to Eugene, as everyone is aware of, was not, and is not popular within the majority of BTC.
There was talk of more than just Woody, moving on. However, it’s more than just finding a new coach, it’s all the support that comes along with it and as we all know, BTC/Nike offers these athletes, a lot of additional support other than just a paycheck and equipment.
Yes, injuries, unfortunately, are part of high-level performance. But it always seems like somebody in this group is dinged up, having surgery, recovering from an injury, etc.
I’ve said earlier in previous posts that I thought Grant was not long for remaining in BTC, but now I don’t think he’s going to make a change until after Paris.
If he does move, I think some people will be shocked as to who he hooks his wagon too.
