Pretty shocking. It looked like they were jogging but they ended up running 4:03.

"we'll stick to the 800 for now" after asked about running both 1500 and 800 at worlds in the post race finish line interview
...what?
I said if he coached Mu to the Olympic 1500 he should just coach everyone in every event
Bobby Kersee will probably have Athing Mu do more distance work next year so that hopefully it will help Mu go sub 1:55 in the 800.
But even Kersee himself doesn't really believe that Athing Mu can beat Faith Kipyegon in the 1500 in the Olympics.
Yes. Mu is a rare, generational talent. I was surprised when people doubted that she had the ability to run a good 1500m. I have no doubt that she could go under 4:00 with the right training. Her best event is still the 800 though.
Apologize? For what?
Mu obviously has the talent for it. Not sure if Kersee deserves any credit.
Oh for crying out loud. Every. Single. Time.
Mu ran the 200 and 1500 for years in AAU. Longtime followers knew. Just glad the world can see what a generational talent she is.
Ma's Army all together could not beat Kipyegon.
Everyone hates L.A. coaches and runners.
A lot of people (including rojo) thought that Mu would be uncompetitive at the 1500, and that Kersee was delusional about her potential in the event. Well, it turns out that she is competitive in the 1500 at the US Champs and Kersee was right, she can definitely go under 4:00, making her competitive on the international level.
4:03 is much like the winning men running ~ 3:38.
Apparently the only thing Kersee can’t do is coach her to run the correct distance
And her silver medal at the Nationals is much like, a silver medal at the national championship meet!
He’s not called Kersey the Chemist for nothing.
Don't mean to be rude, but how can anyone with great 800m speed not be good at the 1500m if they choose to do so with appropriate training.
im not sure what you mean by THEY.
damn it ROJO you have completely boggled me
Kersee never said that Athing Mu could be "competitive" in the 1500. Kersee said that he thought Athing Mu could win the 2024 Olympic gold medal. Big difference.
I don't think Faith KIPYEGON or Gudaf Tsegay or even Laura Muir are shaking in their boots or running shoes, but I am a bit surprised that she made the team and I feel kind of bad for Sinclaire Johnson, i love her moxie and confidence. My guess is Athing Mu will not contest the 1500 where she has no chance of beating the Africans and that will open the door for Sinclaire to go to the World Championships.
Holy F****ing Sh**. Employee 1.1 just broke 15:00 for 5000 for the 1st time at age 36.
