Talk of some secret meeting Sha’Carri held with the other athletes yesterday before US Champst. Sounds spicy?
I heard it was something about USATF not allowing the athletes to shoot video of themselves during the championships. No vlogs, tiktoks, Instagram reels, etc.
USATF had prohibited them shooting race footage before, but I heard that this year they went even further and prohibited shooting video in the warmup area. And some athletes were pretty upset.

They had to go without their phones for an hour or so while doing their jobs? They are all victims and should post about this injustice incessantly.

No, that's not it. Their videographers weren't allowed to shoot anything of the athletes anywhere on the stadium grounds. It's not a "I want my phone" issue.

This is a poorly attended, non-televised NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP. And they’re not allowed to film anything? Do you see how that might have a negative effect on sponsorships, visibility, or even fanbase building?
Christ, reminds me of Pre railing against the AAU.
If this is true, I have a new respect for her! This year she has began to win me over (use to not like her at all)......also if true, in the interview with Mia Brahe - Pedersen, she stated, "Sha'Carri was very nice to her gave her some good advice"!...

In other words, she's winning now and you need to make excuses to jump on the bandwagon.

Their job is to advertise the brands that sponsor them, and it obviously gets harder if they’re not allowed to record content.

Their jobs are to promote their respective sponsors. They use their phones to give their fans and followers access to things that aren’t otherwise available to the public (like videos of themselves in the warmup area). Being on their phones and giving fans access to themselves is literally their job.

God forbid notoriously underpaid track athletes promote their brand
