Cloudspike 10,000 vs 1500

I was wondering the same. All of OC wears the 10k spike. Ritz’s IG post yesterday only referenced the 10k spike and said his team was involved in the development of that spike and they feel good about it. Apparently the 1500 spike doesn’t have a full length spike—it’s only in the forefoot. That may have something to do with it. My takeaway is that the 10k spike is the one to use even if you’re running the 1500.

i agree, as an 800 1500 runner I was even more conflicted in which to purchase if the 1500 is better for shorter faster stuff but looking at OAC Europe and other people who have worn the spikes, even for 800 races everyone seems to be wearing the 10,000 ones. Its confusing though from a visual level too as the 10,000 spike plate looks more aggressive and the level of cushioning between them looks negligible.

it's really disappointing if people prefer the 10000m version over the 1500m in the 800m. does that make this the best one size fits all shoe for middle/distance runners? or does it just mean that the cloudspike 1500m is just a bad middle distance shoe? i have to assume that neither are better than the md-x when it comes to 800/1500m

It’s both. 10k spike is basically a bouncier version of dragonfly so I believe it takes the. Down as the best all around spike. IMO md-x is best 800/1500 spike if you can tolerate it and Cloudspike 10k is best for anything longer

I have the md-x, should I continue to use it 2024 track season? I was considering the On cloud 1500m and 10k spikes, as my main distance is the 1500m. I also do 800 and 3k, but love the 1500 the most. I also saw that brooks also made a new super spike, was wondering which was the best spike for the 1500m, and just for reference, the md-x feels perfect and i can tolerate the spike very well

I’d stick with the MD-X since it works for you, and is a superspike that lots of pros wear. No need to mess around with something different.

I ended up getting both pairs, md-x and cloudspike 10000m.

If you think of it, report back how the cloud 10000 work for you.

I wore it for a bit until mine ripped. When new it feels as bouncy as the new dragonfly but maintains the bounce for longer.

How does the Cloudspike 10000 do vs the Dragonfly?

I have the Dragonfly and I love it. My primary event will be the 400m. I would only use either shoe in the weeks leading up to a major event for fast, short intervals of 100 to 300m.

Can you even buy ON spikes now? Any links?
