I think he would at least have been there at the bell. Sub 12:44 at least.
Always thought there was more hype for Houlihan and her 14:23 but that of those summer time trials Ahmed's 12:47 was more impressive. Ahmed had pacers for less and didn't have anyone chasing him pushing him like Houlihan had Schweizer pressing on the last lap.
Also still feel he messed up doubling in 2021. He was right there at the finish line with Cheptegei and I can't help but think if he didn't have the 10k in his legs he would have been able to find another second or two that day.
Feel bad that it seems like that was his big shot as he seems to have taken a half step back while the rest of the world has taken one or two steps forward.

Yeah 100% Sub 12:44 he was insane shape, you could tell that 2020 was his year and that was his peak. The bronze medal beating out jakob and bekele showed what he was capable off. He looked so Aerobically powerful in the 12:47, I don’t know if he will ever regain that form

Yeah def would be there at the bell, he flexed at the end of the 12:47, with Aregawi pushing the pace he would of thrived sitting. His 12:47 on a mid high school track with average pacing is so underrated, guy barely gets his respect for literally being on the scene running sun 13 consistently and hanging with the best of the East Africans. He also ran sub 13 in old spikes too!!

Maybe people don’t like the way he talks, but gotta give him credit for being the first Non East African to bridge the sub 12:50 barrier and his two medals
