Generally replying to people like "sniffson" is a complete waste of time, but his post evinces such a lack of recognizable intelligence that it's far too difficult to avoid it.
Oh, yes, please reveal thy secrets, wise sage of distance running.
Too true. That 37.0 last 300 in Lausanne in 2003? Fake. Never happened. The video I have revealing this supposed "kick" by Bekele was simply an elaborate fabrication by the zealous fanatics at Eurosport.
That 5,000 in Athens in the summer of '04? Forgery. That 38 second 300 at the end versus El Guerrouj never happened. You imagined it. Bekele is actually very slow and would be beaten in a 100m by the pudgy 5th grader who was snacking on a Big Mac in MSG pre-Millrose at the Knicks game a few nights before were the challenge thrown down by said 5th grader.
Don't fool yourself. All those 52-54 second last laps, the 66 second final 500; pure illusion. Bekele does, indeed, have no footspeed. Thank you for enlightening us.
Bekele has run many 5K's and 10K's. Webb ran only one in a Grand Prix meeting, late in the season. Not a good example.
How can Bekele not be able to break 4:00 in the mile?
Let's re-supply the answer already bludgeoned to death in newspaper articles, other threads, and, for the select few, common sense answers supplied by the brain: Millrose is a slow track. Read Bekele's answers; he could not keep his balance around the turns. A 4:01 there is an excellent time. As some already mentioned, Webb ran 4:00 on that track, then later ran 3:48. Bekele gave him a lot of ground to Lagat after 800 and then ran for second. He was not pressed. His time is not representative of his current shape.
If you think Agwenyi's 3:55 in Boston means that the relatively unknown Kenyan is superior to Bekele, your lack of common sense becomes strikingly evident, as does your ignorance of distance running and the correlation of performances and periodization.
In your case, no. You must be on performance DE-hancing drugs.
No one could draw such wildly idiotic conclusions as you've done here without having had their judgment severely impaired by some chemical insult.
I'm telling you that you need to wait a few years, take the driver's license test once you're of age, then take a trip down to Madison Square Garden in February and take a test run on that track. Compare to your all-time PR.
There is nothing to say to this. It is simply too asinine for reply.
