Now this. $33 per ticket per day, which is basically an additional part of your entry fee given that these are kids and one or two parents will be needing to go with them. I thought these events were to support the kids but it’s clear that NSAF is turning a significant profit off of this. My first time at NON is probably my last.

wow. just saw they are 27.50 for new balance. im sure probably 35 with the fees, etc. not even a free pass for coach unless multiple atletes.
you are correct. what a racket. coaches, parents, siblings all need to have a ticket. they can basically charge whatever they want. im sure it will be even more next year.

You’re okay with the trip costing many well over a thousand dollars for most but you won’t go again because the entities making it all possibly charge a fraction of the total cost?
Yes, it’s a surprisingly big entrance fee and annoying. But it should really only have an impact on whether locals go.
I would be far more annoyed at smaller more local events charging big admissions.

I’m only a few hours away so, yeah, it matters particularly to me. But still, I think even long distance travelers should see the prices and wonder where the heck it’s all going. I mean, how much does Arcadia cost to go watch?

Yes, it’s too high and a clear negative on getting spectators to go, like relatives who live in Oregon. If we go next year I’d feel like I can’t invite my kid’s local family. It looks like a hidden athlete fee, not a spectator fee.
But regardless $33 x 2 for parents shouldn’t move the needle on whether a kid goes.

You know why they charge that much? Because they know they can and people will pay it. It's not about the kids at these meets. Simply to make money and kids to say they are an All American.

I was at Brooks too. Different is Brooks PR is clearly done as marketing alone / supporting the sport. They fly kids out, give them loads of stuff for free. Nike/NSAF seems to be Nike paying for naming rights for marketing but NSAF using it as a cash cow.

Arcadia was pretty reasonable compared to these prices. Checked my statement and saw I paid $28 for a two-day pass. We had two kids compete on Saturday and they were given free admission on the first day.

Arcadia is such a great event and does everything they can to support the sport. It is such a great experience going out there
