If you have a Lactate Meter where did you purchase it and how do you get replacement test strips? What brands have worked well? Been doing research and seems like the only option is to buy on eBay it you are in the USA. Thanks in advance!

Lactate.com
LactatePlus - I've used for about 15 years, and it's a good one.
don't see strips on that site
They also have the starting kit that you can get with it which includes prickers, wipes, strips etc…
I bought it after saving up for a few months and it was definitely worth it. I will add that when you get the meter replace the battery because for me it was giving un accurate results. Will also add searching up to properly test your lactate to prevent wasted tests and future frustration
The Lactate Pro took 60 seconds to process a sample, and the Lactate Pro 2 improved that to 15 seconds. The Lactate Plus takes 13 seconds to process, which is nice if you're trying to get samples from more that one athlete.
All strips from all machines are expensive, but relatively similar in cost. I've had really good experiences with shipping from Lactate.com. Granted, I'm located a state away, but I've ordered strips before 9am on a Monday and had them delivered on Tuesday many times.
If you are taking samples from multiple people, I would recommend using safety/one-time use lancets, such as MedtLancet Pressure Activated Safety Lancets (26Gx1.8mm). 23G X 1.8mm also works. These are less aggressive than a lot of lancets -- enough to get a sample, but not leave people bleeding too heavily. You can get lancets that diabetics use that also work (pen type, where you replace the lancet), but the risk of finger sticks is higher. Even if you're the only one using the lancet, I'd still recommend a new lancet with every test. There is a lot of plastic wasted with lancets, but blood-borne pathogens and/or staph infections also suck.
Alcohol swabs - I just use whatever individually packaged ones I can get at the grocery store or pharmacy.
Cotton wipes - I use the round cotton pads sold to remove make-up.
Lactate Plus straight from Nova Biomedical site.
I’m a Lactate Plus user and I’ve taken about 300 samples. Only 1 error reading in that time and it was because I didn’t have enough blood.
Make sure you get the control solution too, just to check your meter regularly.
it’s a shame there are so many consumables though.
