Jokic has been the BEST NBA player for the last 3 years!

I see jock itch has brought back all the fans who supposedly boycotted the woke NBA.

How many players knelt before the game? How many fewer Bud Lights were sold at last night’s game than the year prior?

Last I checked basketball is a team sport, Nuggets won! Congrats to all and to Jokic for the playoff MVP!

It doesn’t hurt when you have a player average 30, 13.4 and 9.5 through the playoffs. It helps when that star is unselfish.

Problem with him is that he plays without flash, without personality. Tim Duncan was underrated and underappreciated for years (still is) because his style of play doesn't excite most fans. Winning this title will lift him up, but because of who he is and how he plays the moment he doesn't win he will be forgotten. Truth is, he does everything all these other superstars should be doing and he does it without seeking special attention. He should be respected more for not being a "me-first" star.

I see a lot of people say this and I don't understand what you're watching. He makes multiple passes every single game that make your jaw drop. His "sombor shuffle" is the most preposterous-looking shot and hits nothing but net 80% of the time. He has tips at the basket where the ball seems to pop out of a scrum and into the net by magic. This isn't Tim Duncan hitting bank shot after bank shot. Jokic is a genuine savant and has the most unique approach to the game in the league. No personality? No flash? Nonsense.

They didn't give him the regular season mvp for the third consecutive year which he deserved because the voting panel had white guilt or wanted "what's best for the league." That's actually ironic because when you go woke, you go broke. Joel "Troel" Embiid had a great year, up there with past mvp's, but sub par to the Joker. Congrats to the Nuggets and shout out to Jamaal Murray for making a sensational comeback from his injuries to get the title to Denver.

LOL. I like how the only important skills you listed for defense are rebounding and positioning. Hysterical! Come on, Jokic is great, and he is a deserved champion and 2 time MVP. But don’t lie and say he has ALL the important skills when he obviously has some key defensive deficiencies that are particularly relevant for a center.

In a curious way Jokic's entry into the NBA reminds me of Tom Brady's entry into the NFL. Scouts severely downgraded both because of their perceived lack of athleticism, lack of quickness, soft bodies, etc. Look at how many teams passed on both. Jokic's draft pick was famously missed because they had gone to commercial. Almost every NBA expert who had watched Jokic in Serbia thought he was too slow and ponderous to play in the NBA. But in both cases scouts missed their incredible fundamental skills and how players with determination can do training so that they can develop their physicality to the demands of their respective leagues. In Brady's case his quick release offset his lack of foot speed and in Jokic's case his ball handling and footwork offset his lack of sheer athleticism.

Jokic and the Nuggests totally mailed it in the last month of the season and were pretty embarrassing, the NBA MVP is a regular season award and Joel Embid winning was just and fair given what Jokic and the Nuggets did. Jokic and the Nuggets get the last laugh because they won what truly mattered (somewhat in part because of their regular season load management) and the 76ers and Embid pulled a Kendall Roy and sh*t the bed again.

He’s the first player in NBA history to lead the playoffs in total points, rebounds and assists. Made all the more impressive by the fact that the Nuggets played 3 fewer games than the Heat and the same number as the Celtics.

Compare his stats with those of the individual he is tasked with guarding. His defense doesn’t look that subpar when viewed through that lens.

Good analogy. I hadn't made that connection but it does seem apropos.

By that logic, Doncic, Curry, Nash, Melo, and Trae Young are/were all great defensive players. Sorry, that’s not how it works.

He is not a great defender but he is not nearly the liability on defense that many people seem to think he is.

His overall game (including defense) is so good that, if he keeps it up for another 6 years or so, he will force himself into the conversation of the greatest to ever play the game.

Bam is not a very good offensive player, Jokic should have much better stats. Let's compare Embiid vs Jokic head to head:

Embiid' team is 5 and 2 vs Jokic.

Embiid 25.7 pts, 11.9 rebounds, 3.6 assusta,1.4 steals.

Jokic 21.9 points, 8.9 rebounds. 7.4 assists, 1.1steals.

Still I'd take Jokic over Embiid for his durability and how he elevates his teammates.
