Is he in the 4*400 relay? I think he has a great shot at winning the 800, but it might not be a super fast time if he has other work to do. What's the UsaQ for 800m?

Brazier still did far better. Why are almost all American runners so slow?
For reference, Kenya has 8 sub 1:46 athletes including 6 at altitude, 7 sub 3:35 athletes including 2 at Nairobi, and 9 sub 13:10. You're almost certain to see at least one Kenyan medal in every distance event at the Olympics/Worlds.
America's "best" runners only receive very infrequent silver and bronze medals.
I'm a big Flatt Earther so I'll stick up for him. I've got to admit Will Sumner is great but if he had to run the 800m with an ego the size of Cade's weighing him down he wouldn't be nearly as fast.

1:46.25 is USA Q
Thanks. So it looks like he went for the Q in the semi and will probably run a tactical final to save it for a competitive relay.
Is a 1:46 in superspikes in the same league as a 1:43.55?
Super spikes don't work for 1500m on down because it lowers the cadence by several spm. That's why most pro 800 guys just wear sprint spikes. 1500 guys wear them because super shoes are more comfortable and easier to wear in practice and longer workouts.
I believe he was wearing the Maxfly or the Air Zoom Victory. They don't help as much but the Victory will beat his legs up less so he'll be fresher for Friday.
Also, American marathoners are complete garbage. Even with supershoes and better training, Salazar's and Rodgers' times would still likely make the Olympic team.
