Any stories out there? I’m aware of a few from reading the boards over the years, but curious if others have additional anecdotes or firsthand experience.
Klaas Lok - trained using ‘Verheul’ method which has been discussed at length here
Bernie Allen - as poster HRE has mentioned numerous times, he finished top 10 in Boston one year on 40-50 mpw including two 10 mile runs, a 20 mile run, and sometimes another run of 5-10 miles.
Taylor Gilland - the man who paced Galen Rupp’s indoor 2 mile American record (as well as broke 4 minutes in the mile several times) was purported to have been doing extremely low mileage at the time (30-40 mpw) while working 60+ hours per week at an investment bank.
Cam Levins - his 150+ mpw and often 3x runs per day which led him to winning the NCAA 5k/10k double in 2012.
CJ Albertson - known for running very high mileage often with marathon-length, marathon type efforts in training.
Any others?
