I remember years ago reading Sanya Richards Ross open up about her past abortion and how she felt pressure from the track community to have an abortion so that she could continue to pursue her track career.
But now I think it is pretty clear (with Kipyegons WR and Frayser Pryces dominance) that going through pregnancy and labor and raising a child is actually possible for top track and field athletes. Who knows maybe a case could be made for some kind of benefit even.
While of course raising children is very hard work, it is not necessarily a career ender as some would make it out to be.
Thoughts?
