Looking to run my first marathon in October but only have 4 days/week to train. Ran a few halfs for funsies in the past 2 yrs on like 10-15 unstructured miles plus some cycling and basketball (hit 2:00 +/- 5 mins each time).
I'm looking at the following plan:
- Tuesday: 8 miles easy ----> building up to 10 by the end (probably on a treadmill)
- Thursday: 8 miles progression ----> building up to 10 by the end
- Saturday: 5 miles @ MP -----> building up to 10 by the end @ MP
- Sunday: 12 miles ------> building up to 20 by the end
Obviously I'll do an easy week every 3-4 weeks, and I also lift on Mondays and Fridays and want to take Wednesdays completely off. I really dislike intervals and don't want to get injured so I left them off. Any suggestions?
