Should I take IB profen before a marathon if i have a tight IT band? I dont take it on a daily basis but only when I race and do real hard workouts (once a week). Without it I seem to not run as well. I have PR'd running 10K and half marathons. My goal for the marathon in the trials B standard 2:22. The reason why i am concerned is how does IB profen affect:
Hydration
GLycogen
Liver
Stomach distress
My plan would be to take 400 mg the night before, the morning of (4 hours) and 1 hour before.
I know Paula Radcliff had a problem at the Olympics with glycogen storage from the anti-inflamatory she was taking. Any Advice???
