Basically I’m a 800/1500 guy, who consistently splits 51 on the 4x400. I have a 600m coming up and I’m wondering how to pace it. Like based on my 4x400 split, what is the ideal time to go through in for 400?

Let's say your 51 corresponds to a 1:58 800. Split the difference and come through in 54 and try to finish strong.

If you can split 51 in a flying 400m, I would be trying to hit 54.0 in through 400m (off your standing start) and hoping to close out as close to/under 28.0 as possible. Does 1.21.5-1.22.0 sound like the time you were aiming for?
Honestly knowing what you run for 800/1500m would help a lot.

Yeah that sounds like about what I thought I should aim for. My 800/1500 PRs are 1:55 high and 3:59. Thanks for your help!

I think 1:21-1:22 sounds about right. But I recommend going out a bit faster (maybe 53), you are going to die a lot harder than you think. The last 200 of the 600 is going to feel like the last 200 of an 800 and not the 3rd 200.

Why would you give such stupid advice ? A full effort for a 400 requires pushing it at the 300 mark .

Why would you give such stupid advice ? A full effort for a 400 requires pushing it at the 300 mark .
A few points-
A 600 run under 90 seconds is almost completely anaerobic.
Most 51 second runners can handle going their fast gear and hanging on.
Trying to pace yourself and conserve or kick for a 600 time trial, you're going to be leaving something on the table.
Bring the heat and you're going to surprise yourself.
