Can anyone take results from WA's website and put them on their own website or is that against their copyright/IP ?
Where does WA get its results from ? Direct from each and every single meet ?

My understanding is data is not subject to copyright. So the list of the highest mountains in the world, longest rivers, list of Roman Emperors etc. is not copyright. The same would apply to race results.
If you just reproduce the results list you should be OK. You should credit WA as the source as a courtesy though. However, if you copy a race description or summary or some other commentary from the WA site you may be in trouble.

I just saw this which indicates you can't touch anything on their website. Especially the "2. Copyrights, Trade Marks, etc" part...
The terms and conditions link contains a lot of legal boilerplate which is typical of most large organisations. It is actually linked to their elearning section which contains a lot of videos that they have developed and obviously want to protect. I don't know if they have a similar legal declaration for the WA site in general.
If you are concerned about upsetting WA I suggest you write to them and explain what you are planning to do and describe the type of data you will be using. If it is just lists then I would be surprised if they had legal objections.
Finally, this website frequently published the results of meets and races, I doubt they ask for permission to do so.
