Hello LetsRun.
I am having major issues with my stride.
Long story short. Had a groin injury while sprinting about 3 years ago. Probably partial adductor or hip flexor tear. Had trouble sitting up in bed and pain running. Leg imbalance. Then it was somehow compensated. First adductors and sartorius tightened up after runs, then tfl followed. Anyway, running felt more or less balanced until covid hit me. Had muscle pains and it felt like every injury site I had in the past was inflamed. Entire right hip area tightened up. Ever since my running stride feels out of balance. About half a year ago I felt my lower back also tightening up on the right side (QL area). Right leg feels weird, like it's functionally short.
Here's the video of running analysis I did last Wed.
What the PT said (he was doing the analysis) is basically I am having anterior pelvic tilt and that's the root of all evil, he wouldn't give me strenghtening exercises for glutes/hamstrings yet until we move my pelvis into more neutral position. He seems to think that lateral imbalance will be automagically corrected by this.
What I feel is my right and to a lesser extent left TFL needs to be relaxed to prevent rotation of the tibia and hip. This can probably be done by putting more work to glut med, so I need to strengthen it. Also my hip flexors and quads need to be stretched so that I can extend my hips more. QL will probably relax a bit if I can put my pelvis into more neutral position, in this I agree with PT.
I would appreciate any opinions and suggestions. Please keep trolling to minimum if you can help yourself, as it is a very serious issue for me.
