Their legacy won't be affected at all. Farah and Wanjiru are champions. They win races.
It shows he is human. Reminder: M Farah is 13th fastest all-time, 1500m. It would be against nature for one man to be top 13 from 1500m to Marathon.
Mo Farah's legacy never included the Marathon. He was a true competitor on the track though not a timetrialist, and while he ran a good time here, he never converted effectively to the Marathon.
FWIW, no one would've rated him higher than Bekele, Haile or Eliud before this anyway, so this changes nothing.
He was best ever 5k/10k track runner! Forget xc and marathons no one has more doubles and dominated better than Farah 2011 to 2017 on track in 5k 10k! 328 and 205 just show his range! Best track champion! And he was clean too! Other dudes weren't!!!

It doesn't affect his legacy considering his legacy isn't based on marathon prowess.

That's what I was thinking. That sub-2:06 he ripped in Chicago seemed insane at the time.
Now we have doppers clown-shoe bouncing to 2:03s with ease. Ya hate to see it.
Also, Mo Farah was a track guy who ended up winning Chicago and getting third at London. Nothing to sneeze at.

I think it is partially the shoes and partially faster guys taking up the marathon earlier. KK was barely sub 14:00...13:44.
You need wheels. The best marathon runners have a close to or sub 4:00 mile or equivalent under their belt.

Mo's legacy has always been slow PRs, except for the 1500m.
His legacy, when compared to these other greats, earns him the name Slo-Mo.
One early great you did not mention is Paul Tergat. Quick PR comparison:
