I do a track workout once a week usually like 15 laps of various intervals. How much can I typically do in spikes. Like is there a rule of thumb for how many laps I can do in spikes? My mileage is like 50 miles if that helps.

What does your coach say?
Probably an unpopular opinion since I know you letsrun kids love to throw on spikes for every workout, but I don't think you should be using spikes for workouts at a pace any slower than 4:00/mile pace. Trainers will work just as well from a speed aspect at any pace slower than that, and they'll also be more leg saving which will allow you to do more reps and leave your legs feeling better after the workout.
I agree. Trainers, period. Learn to push, dig, accelerate without an assist. Then when the time comes, get a feel for the spikes, but that's all. Save the benefit for race day, but only if the pace at practice warrants it.

I wouldn’t have my athletes do it ver often. Definitely with a new pair and when getting sharp for a race. Mor than that you’re asking for injury
I train on a grass track, and it is is damp this time of year, so I wear spikes for my two track sessions Monday and Friday.
If you wear them on your hands there is no rule of thumb.
