To answer your Q he’s done. Even in 2019 he was on the way down. There were concerns about his character going back to his Junior days. He doesn’t have the discipline to succeed at this juncture while out of his physical prime and with no pharmaceutical assistance.

Don't most 15 runners cap out at around their early 30's as well? It's much harder to maintain your fast-twitch muscles at that point. Even the steeple might be pushing it if he really wanted to return to track.

Yeah there’re a few exceptions, but they are late-bloomers or guys who undertrained for the sake of longevity (Nick Willis, Lagat). Kiprop was running at a high level in 2007 and his behavior is completely erratic.

I don't know if it was the same bar fight the OP mentions, but Kiprop once beat up the owner of a bar and then told him not to call the police because 'HE was the police'. They didn't kick him out after that.

He is certainly a colorful character, especially considering how bland most Kenyan runners are, and in fact how must elite runners are these days.
