They weren't entered in any races last I checked and it doesn't infringe on their high school ineligibility. They said they wanted to run fast 5k's and they're running out of time if they don't want to race into late June. Lex also ran this race last year so it seems odd

They already lost their high school eligibility.
Aa far as why they aren't running today, they haven't said.
They wont run the CIF State meet so the CIF made a rule out of spite that they lose their H.S. eligibility if they run in any meet where theres collegiate/pro runners present. In other words it was The CIF saying if your not going to run in the meet we want you to, were not going to let you run any H.S. meets.

I believe the prior rule was that you couldn't compete directly against college or pro runners in the same race. They changed it to where you cant even participate in a meet where they are also competing.

It seems like the Young brothers screwed up their senior year by thinking they are just too good. they’re hardly racing and hardly improving. this has left the door open for other high schoolers like Conner Burns to put them in their place.
don’t get me wrong, I’m a fan and wish them well, but I think they should have stuck with HS running.
