CJ Allen almost upsets Rai Benjamin in Doha

Allen is a real late bloomer at 28, having just run 46.62 400m pr last year and 46.07 indoors this year. His pr for most of his career in the 400mH was over 49, then a few years back he broke 49 and last year got it down under 48.2, I think, about a half a second drop. His 200m pr is, I think, close to 2 seconds slower than Rai Benjamin's.

Think Santos is out for the season.

Torn meniscus. Santos won’t be at worlds. Too bad. If all 3 were healthy, it would be the event to watch.

He was easy to miss down in lane 3, but he was even through 9 hurdles. Great run from a tough lane.

And Rai better get those steps figured out, because those last couple were uuuugly.

Terrible call by Boldon. Allen was right with him the whole time. I wish these announcers would stop talking about the favorite like that person owns the race even if they lose it's still about them.

Benjamin may be the fastest flat 400M of all the hurdlers, but his hurdling technique is poor. He needs to learn to hurdle with either leg as Dos Santos is now doing. If he doesn't, he will never win gold.

Butt his incontinence problems greatly affected his career.

I have often wondered how fast he could have run an 800 (on pure hate) in his prime. Flinging his own feces at his competitors.
