Recently joined a running club and found that they run workouts in five or six groups with about ten people per group. It's also coached, and the coach times the workouts, but I find it weird that everyone hypes this feature of the workouts up quite a bit. We all have watches, and all the coach really seems to do is tell you whether you're on pace. Am I missing something here? My coaches in high school and college had us time and report said time ourselves, and both of those teams were pretty good.
