this is the work Ari and Spencer do and that more people need to do. When you run repeat miles at 5:40 followed by sprint work, sub 4 miles are simple

Obvviously you're joking, but I got into sub 8 shape by doing a lot of LT1 work, some LT2 work, and then a 2000/800/3x300 workout at 3k/mile/800 to peak

What did a typical week or training look like?
Here would be a 'generic' week and then a race week:
Monday: 8 mile steady, 5:30
Tuesday: 5 mile slightly faster, 5:20; PM, 5x1600 around 4:50-4:55
Wednesday: 3/8 recovery
Thursday: 3/7 easy
Friday: 6x1k @ 10k effort (around 2:500
Saturday: jog 12
Sunday: jog 3/3
Monday: 3/3 jog
Tuesday: 2000 in 5:20, 800 in 1:59, 3x300 around 41-42. 6, 5, 4 minute rest
Wednesday: 3/6 recovery
THursday: 3 easy
Friday: 4 easy
Saturday: race

Sub 8 is pretty good for a mile, keep it up.
