I was wondering if we would see SML and/or Athing Mu at this meet since their coach Bobby Kersee is helping promote it. Still no word on Mu, who hasn't raced since Worlds last year, but NBC is reporting Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone will be running the flat 400 -- her first flat 400 since 2021.
Exciting stuff. SML already has the bye to Worlds in the 400H and her 400 pb of 50.07 dates back to 2018 when she was a freshman at Kentucky. So she should be able to go a lot faster in LA.
I'm still wondering if Mu will do this meet. I'm guessing she won't run the 400 vs Sydney but there is an 800 the night before that she could do.
