At what age are seniors considered “too old” to run HS track in California? If he is 16 as a freshmen he will be 19 as a senior. In some states, 19 years olds are allowed to run high school track, and 20 year olds are not
Where else in the nation can individuals get "recruited" to public schools. I understand why it was implemented for academic reasons but it just creates powerhouses in athletics compared to the rest of the nation.
If they combined different age groups, he won by 20 seconds; if they didn't, he won by 57 seconds, so he can run faster. If he turns 15 in the fall-winter, then he's just on the older side of freshmen, since the window is roughly September 1-August 30, and will be 15 throughout freshman track season and 18 as a senior in track, turning 19 during xc as a freshman in college. Even if he's already 15, he would be a very good prospect, likely in the 4:20s with good competition at the end of the season. 25.7 200m winning his heat(?) is good speed for a distance runner at this age. At any rate, Newbury Park looks to have enough depth in the coming years to continue to be a powerhouse, as they have many sub-4:20-4:30s/sub-10 underclassmen.

Are you being serious or are you just looking for some Letsrun punishment?

He is going to West Ranch Highschool in Stevenson Ranch, CA. He is very close with many of their freshmen runners.
Wow, West Ranch has a good set up for 2025. They have: Bodell - c/o 2026 - 4:29 Halvorson - c/o 2026 - 4:30 Cantu - c/o 2027 - 4:33 Duenas - c/o 2026 - 4:34 They are gonna need to find a fifth man for 2025. If they find one they will be really good. These 2 could be good candidates and have lots of room for improvement Perez - c/o 2026 - 5:05 1600 Bogoniewski - c/o 2026 - 5:00 1600

The question is, how many are going to transfer out with the new coach taking over?
Class of 2024 - likely no one will transfer, or they’ll be ineligible until the middle of the season in both XC and track. Doshi and Shetty already live in the NP area, and Guevara transferred in
Class of 2025: Herrera transferred in during last track season. Watson already lives in the NP area.
Class of 2026 is the biggest question mark. But this incoming sophomore class at NP already looks really good
Class of 2027 guys have a lot of time to decide whether they want to go to NP or not
