Can anyone outline a good achievable program to move from a spring marathon to 800m peak 14 weeks later?
Day after Marathon 20 minute easy walk and jog next day nothing third Day 30 minute walk and jog next day nothing next day you should be able to run 3 miles easy nonstop. Take 48 to 60 hours with no running and that will complete your recovery week.
I finished a marathon block. Took 2 weeks off and started an 800 training block. Here is what my plan is.
Next two weeks
Easy 5 miles x 3 days each week
5 miler with 4-8x20-40 sec strides each week
5 miler with 3 mi push enroute each week
Following week
800 time trial in training flats
