Late 40s, PB of 2:58 from a couple years ago
Ramped up training from 10k/week in Oct/Nov/Dec to 75k/week starting in January, and maintained that through to two weeks ago when I peaked at 85k (tapering to 40k last week).
Long runs of 34k, 36k, 33k, break, 34k, 38k, 34k, 45k, break, break - all on the treadmill at around 5:00/km (c. 8:00/mi). Did not run race pace in any of these long runs, but rather did uphill repeats at 6% incline (1K on, 1K off) so that the elevation gain was c. 600m or 700m in the back half of these long runs. Last long run (45k) I finished off with 5k all uphill at 6% incline.
Did a treadmill time trial 1/2 marathon in 1h 18m 45s (3:45/km / 5:58/mi) at two weeks out
Basically every single km/mi was done on the tread due to work, travel, family obligations, lack of a place to run outside in the city (once even had to do a long-run that ended after midnight). Also, I travel a lot for work, so had to do runs in hotel gyms in random places like Qatar, Oman, Paris, Dublin.
Any predictions?
