Please state your opinion as to why the US has so many mass shootings. I don't espouse one view or another, I'm just curious what people here genuinely think.
Ok, but according to this source, Caucasian people are disproportionately responsible for incidences of mass shooting? Or maybe you're talking about some other metric of gun violence?
Serious question: why do we allow the Bill of Rights to apply to blacks? The 2nd Amendment exists, but is perpetually being hollowed out because black people can't stop shooting one another, and white Communists use the forme...
Every country has road rage. In the US road rage occurs with guns. Every country has mental illness. In the US mental illness with guns. Every country has angry, confused teens with poor parenting. In the US these teens have guns. Every country has inner city crime. In the US you have inner city crime with guns.

The US is the most multicultural country on the planet.
Look it up yourself. I don't post links anymore as one side will claim it's fake or that the site is not a source (that's their latest response).
In 2017 there was 348 mass shootings.
In 2021 there was 693 mass shootings.
But...it's Trump's fault, all of it!
Serious answer: There was and always will be bad people who get a hold of guns. That will never change. How kids are getting them is insane and some adults have to be held responsible.

You apparently don’t know how to evaluate statistics.
I would appreciate it if you'd elaborate.
Ah I see I made an error when looking at the graph, my bad. My point still stands, that data doesn't quite support the notion that a "high black population" is responsible for the problem the US currently faces.

This. It's so simple but idiots just don't get it.

That is an obvious factor I suspect as well. The US has more guns than it does people, so it's natural to look at this as a cause. But I see many other causes that have been briefly pointed to on the forums and was hoping people would expand on those more.
Normalization, now “I’m gonna shoot up the school” is one of the first ideas that comes into ones mind when their mental health issues are pushed to the breaking point, because it’s something that happens in the US, this becomes a snowball effect. It’s even something that is dramatized and borderline romanticized in media. Let’s make shows aimed towards young adults/teens, cast an attractive guy as a sympathetic, mentally ill character, who ultimately almost or does shoot up a school. (Think American Horror Story or Thirteen Reasons Why)
The biggest problem is that our idiotic country has decided to make it a right vs left issue, and the majority of the idiots here eat it up. “But the shooter was a left wing trans!” “But the shooter was a right wing white supremacist!” “But without the guns this doesn’t happen” “but I need my fully automatic weapon or assault shotgun to defend my household!”
It seems obvious to me. Stop making everything us vs them, let and encourage kids to get the mental health care they need, and stop giving regular people guns that are designed and meant to obliterate multiple humans at once.

Wrong, its Americans love affair with guns. Every country has “bad people”. Guns make people think they a tougher and cause more confrontations. When you can shoot someone vs having to fight them, are emboldened to be stupider. Like that guy in KC, instead of asking why someone is at your door , you shoot first. More and more people are relying on guns.
Yes a few people need guns due to where they live(ie the wilderness) but most people don’t (but think they do because of Republican&NRA scare tactics)
