I saw a TikTok recently where a runner claimed to go from 1:56 -> 1:51 in the 800 and 50 -> 48 in the 400m with "one month of trials and training."
I ran 1:54.9 and 49.8 a year and a half ago in high school and have kept training informally since off and on (around 40-50 mpw with some speed work).
I need PRs similar to his if I want to run for my college team next year and as soon as possible. How should I go about training? Fortunately, I've got about 3 months. Can I achieve similar times in 3 months? (Ideally sub-1:50 in the 800 and 46-48 in the 400) How do I even begin to approach this? Given the short timespan and the stakes, there is little room for error...
