Hi everyone,
noob question here! I'm a fairly new runner (started a year ago with the lockdown). Currently I run about 30km a week (3x10km) and increase my distance about 10% each week. I have never really trained so I'm wondering what are the benefits of using a training plan or doing different types of runs like speed work, etc., vs just getting the miles in at the same-ish pace. Would I benefit a lot from a plan? My goal at the moment is to just increase distance without losing my pace too much (I'm running my 10ks 5:30 min/km). Would adding speed days or interval runs in help a lot or will just adding distance get me to my first marathon just the same? TIA!
