absolutely, but per the iaaf tech specs that's the norm
in terms of math games i was mostly thinking along the lines of doing workouts with those of different abilities using dif lanes so they stay even-ish with one another each lap around the track

males' inside lane is 7. they use 7-8-9 on the turns. lane 5-6 opened up for males on the straights for additional passing room if needed.
females have lanes 1-4 open to them for entirety of each lap
lane 7 is 446m, which is 11.5% further than lane 1
11.5% is very close to the expected difference between equivalent performances of men and women
