With all the Kenyan busts, I have to be a little sceptical that perhaps the greatest Kenyan of all was clean.
I would be around 40% confident he was clean.
Is that fair?

I would give him a better chance of being clean than Wejo in his "prime."
How confident are you that ingebrigtsen is clean?

Everybody is doping
I can see this wall I'd becoming very trivial by constantly talking about Kenyan athletes. Cheap minds discuss people, great minds discuss positive ideas. Please take note that Everyone is Doping . Tell me how clean the likes of Kerly, knighton, bracy, bromell, Holloway, Seidel, grant fisher, coburn, etc are clean... Then we can talk about the Kenyans!!!
So, thus far the consensus is that he was dirtier than a Calcutta sewer, but everybody dopes so it doesn't matter?

There’s the book everybody poops. There should be a book for athletes called everybody dopes. It’s unavoidable at the top level these days
I’ll be the unpopular one then. I think Rudisha was clean, though of course not with 100% confidence. I’d be much more predisposed to believe in an 800m runner with prototypical size and sprinting ability.
Medium. Medium confident.
All things being equal, if a 45.xx 400m man has a father who was a 46.xx 400m, I am going to believe the guy is clean. There is zero evidence indicating he was not clean.

I’d say more like 72.314159% give or take 10^-6.
80% confident. He let himself get chubby and found himself to be not as fast, like it was a surprise to him. That's the bubble of the truly talented and gifted in all aspects for his event.
Also a doper doesn't tweet "Look at my beautiful running form." Dopers emphasize how hard they work, cause they are working more than anyone else cause their body's able to.
Agreed. He seemed legit
- the truth.
No Olympic medalist in any sport since the 60s has been clean. You can go even further back if you want to count strychnine or amphetamines.
Alan
I give him a solid “I think he was clean but wouldn’t be in any way shocked if he wasn’t”
Thats how I feel about a lot of world champs and record holders. What made Rudisha great was largely effected by things that drugs can’t give, like an ideal height, ideal running form, ideal body proportions and bone structure, and that “train to win, not to time trial” philosophy implemented into the Kenyan training strategy.
I also think for 800m, the best doping supplements fall more in line with what sprinters would take, and that stuff gives your muscles a distinct look that Rudisha definitely didn’t have.
800m seems to have less dopers than both the sprint events below it and the distance events above it.

*less caught
I've assumed he was dirty since the dildo thread.
Pretty confident, the guy was a generational talent to say the least, truly naturally gifted and built to do exactly what he did. Just because his lessers could've been doping doesn't mean he did too, yes I think he's just that much more talented.
