Is this a reasonable goal for the end of this track season.
Current PR: 4:56 in somewhat windy conditions and leading
800: N/A
3200: around 10:40 Ish if I tried most likely
400: 55
100: low 12
25mpw

Of course it is! You look like you have a lot of potential for upswing. You need to make sure you’re doing the right work though. Your speed makes you a good candidate to break 4:30 eventually but you need more aerobic work. Would you be willing to work up to 35 miles a week?
Yeah you certainly have the speed for it, but is it a realistic goal? Probably, assuming you’re in your first couple years of competitive running and feel like you’re steadily improving, which is my guess based on your post. Like the above poster said, more mileage would help. It’s already April and I’m guessing you’re a U.S. high school kid, so it’s too late to raise the mileage too much but doing at least a couple weeks of 30-35 might be the difference maker.
I was on 40mpw during xc but my PR only dropped around 30 seconds while my teammates who used to be slower got faster than me for some reason. I find this odd since I put in a lot more miles than before and expected my endurance to greatly increase. I am now starting to do more strength and speed work to see if that works.
