I am sorry about what you are going through. Does your XC coach have a cordial relationship with your track coach where a conversation between the two might convince her to allow you to move up in distance?
You have a decent 200 time. With your endurance, soccer, xc skiing, if I were your coach, I would actually be looking at you for the 800. Maybe that distance can be your compromise?
