In the comments he later says that once he dropped at 18, she ran 5:10 miles for 7 miles. This was at 5000 ft of altitude near Boulder, which seems absolutely insane. Discuss.

well. assuming it's true. men and women do get closer in skill level the longer the distance. and on the podcast they often talk about how insanely fit she is often.
EPO is one hell of a drug.
If I have my math right, that's 24 consecutive Klecker miles. Woah. Hellen Obiri is a monster in training; in a way that other truly elite athletes are not even close to measuring up to.
But I can't help but remember her (relatively) disappointing NYC marathon last year after the hype train was going full steam (from Dathan interviews, Coffee Club hints, etc.). I hope she's saving enough energy for the actual race and not being a CJ-Albertson-workout-hero leading up to her end goal.
I'm thinking she gets a late call up to London. Boston is an obvious possibility but after the hills of NYC, I think she'll want to go for the flat of London
Just saw this on Strava. Wow. Is she running a spring marathon? Other road races? Track?
She just ran 67:21 in not so great weather for faster running & with a lot of solo miles. Can't see why someone would do 25 miles like this without a marathon lined up in the next 3-6 weeks. Don't see her on the London/Boston start lists. She could be in Rotterdam. Fast course but feel like she's bigger than that.
Well, announced for Boston today! This long run makes a ton more sense now!

Emma bates did 17.5 miles at 2:25 pace today as part of a fartlek workouts. She’s only run 2:23. Should she get a thread? Who would have thought that elite runners do fast workouts…shocking!

If Geoffrey Kamworor ran 25 miles at 2:11 pace at altitude with the last 7 miles around 4:40s would you be impressed/interested?
Didn’t Eliud do the same workout but at like 2:08 pace at altitude on dirt hills? That converts to maybe 2:23 or so. She could be in 2:18 shape on a flat course
