I'm looking for some training advice to try something different. I'm 43, 6'2", 185lbs, slow at all paces, and not built for longer distances. I can jog for 2+ hours no problem. 5k is close to 23 minutes. Best mile is around 6:50-7:00.
I want to try to get my 800 down as far as I can over the next 6-9 months. I'm currently at 3:00-3:10. Yes, that's more than three whole minutes.
I assume I need 1-2 quality workouts a week. What's a good progression to build workouts?
I'll round out the rest of the week with easy runs and cycling.
