Big difference between getting in a screaming match and contracting a murder for hire. People run wild when it comes to moving the goal posts of what they are willing to believe.
Brosnan never dares to wear anything but Nike for a reason. He’s a Nike shill and I wouldn’t be surprised if he get his involved with Nike at some capacity at the post collegiate and pro level in the future.
The screaming match which included the following gem: "I'll fkn kill you!" and not in a "Oh I was just funnin" sense. That's a serious threat, homey, if someone says that you take it at face value in a fight even if Cap was simply being a hothead. If he'd said it to someone different, Cap might have fked around and found out.
I’m in Seattle and didn’t see him myself, but was told by a friend who is a Nike Employee that Sean Brosnan was on the Nike campus today with a few big wigs. I thought this guy was supposed to be coaching in LA. What gives !?!?!
From the thread title, I thought you were talking about Troy Brosnan, elite downhill racer (mountain bike). I have no idea who Sean Brosnan, maybe I'm aging out of the running scene.
Brosnan has barely started at UCLA as an assistant coach. His only success so far was in HS mega talents. He is far from having proven himself yet on the collegiate stage, so this is obviously his main focus. He's been doing a lot of recruiting in the vein from what it looks like. I've also heard rumors he is coaching the NP team from the shadows (puppeteering his wife as "coach", but he is the one writing all the training). So there's a lot on his plate.
Given all this, it would be a massive surprise if it were announced Nike were creating a pro team around Brosnan. There's literally no need for Nike to make another US team right now. There aren't really even any Nike athletes in need of a team at this point.
We don't even know if this rumor is true. But if it is, the best guess is Nike flew him out to talk UCLA's Nike deal, uni designs, etc.... and maybe get a better sense of him as a whole. He is a rising star in the coaching ranks--perhaps they want to know if he's actually legit as a coach, or was just insanely lucky by having the most talented HS team in human history.

When you can coach you can coach. Alberto was a HS coach for a short period and then was came to be one the best distance coaches of all time. Even if you hate the dude, Alberto is still a great coach. Pete Julian also didn’t have massive NCAA success, but still managed to coach athletes to global medals. Danny Mackey was hired by brooks to coach the PRO’s with less coaching experience than almost anyone. Brosnan is the distance coach at a Nike school for reason and seems to be connected well with the big swoosh. He runs the distance squad at UCLA and seems to have made some good progress in a rather short period. My hunch is Nike has something up their sleeves with Brosnan in the future.
Or Maybe he was just in town visiting friends. Brosnan and his wife lived in Portland years back. It’s really no big deal

I am not sure Pete Julian and Danny Mackey are examples of great coaches.
A few of their athletes have succeeded by being massive talents and as a whole, their bodies of work are extremely lack luster.
He made those guys into mega "talents." They were nothing particularly unusual prior to his arrival. There are numerous guys who were close to the Youngs as freshman xc runners in So-Cal who never developed into anything anywhere comparable to them. Brosnan coached the greatest series of high school distance squads in cross country and track in American history, and there are no close contenders. At UCLA, he already has a 3:55 guy who had never broken four before. His women's DMR scored big points at NCAA indoors. This is a guy who started only at the beginning of August in a program with not very high recruits. He has done nothing but prove himself at the very top level of all time.
Anyone who talks up Salazar's coaching, to be consistent, has to also talk up Brosnan's coaching. If Brosnan, who merely wound up with several dozen athletes from the LA area at Newbury Park, was only lucky because of talent, then Salazar was 100x as lucky because he had his pick of athletes around the world, not just some good and decent high school prospects from his local area (Rupp was the one guy he discovered from that area). Salazar with all the resources in the world and the grey-line at the very least, the thyroid doctor, and so forth, did well with top, top talent. So, if Salazar gets credit, Brosnan deserves a lot more.

I'm wondering if your username is some kind of anagram with characters from another language that really spells out "Sean Brosnan".
There are plenty of kids on his own team that were around Lex and Leo as freshmen that he coached, who also did not develop into anything anywhere comparable to the Youngs and Sahlmans. He didn't MAKE those guys into mega talents. The Young and Sahlman brothers are mega talents he was fortunate to coach and he did a good job. Having those kids on the team did as much to raise the level of the other kids on the team as Brosnan did. Can you admit he hit the lottery with the most talented set of brothers in high school history? He did well with them, but he didn't MAKE them.

He didn't merely wind up with several dozen athletes from the LA area at Newbury Park. Most of them were recruited to go there. Almost every kid that went to NP was a very high level club runner prior to coming attending NP. Remember, this is a guy who had 15 complaints with CIF, many having to do with recruiting violations. It wasn't just luck. Too bad it's harder to recruit in the NCAA where other coaches are allowed to recruit vs high school where most of the coaches follow the rules.

…and we will see in a few hours where Staggs, Herold, Dawson, Mireles, Wilbur, Ratkovitch, Martinez and Salcido… rank at the moment.
How many sub4 equivalent guys will he have by end of the day?
