Both completely dominant on the roads in their time. Sammy first sub 59, still has WR u20 for 10,000m, first kenyan to win Olympic marathon. Jacob has been untouchable lately, but who would win if all is equal?
A healthy and properly trained Wanjiru, but it'd probably be really hard getting him to the starting line properly trained. If the reports are accurate, after finding success that guy really liked to party hard.
Yeah, that's a fair point. But assuming they're both at their best competing over a half or 10k, would be a race for the ages. My money would be on Wanjiru, since Kiplimo took an L against Kandie in Valencia in 2020.

Bizzare logic. Wanjiru lost at Half Marathon plenty of times. As far as I can tell, Valencia was Kiplimo's only loss ever at Half Marathon and it took a World Record to do it.

Absolutely. Take a look at Wanjiru’s WA profile: in 2007 after he set his 58:33 HM record, he failed to qualify for the Kenyan WC team in the 10k and then lost two halfs, including 51st place at the World Champs. In 2008 he was beaten by Martin Lel at the London Marathon before his famous Olympic win. After that, he ran another 5 HMs and only won 2 of them, never running faster than 61:08 (admittedly they were usually in marathon buildups) and he DNF’d London in 2010. So Kiplimo having one 2nd place in a WR race doesn’t count against him much.
Yeah, good point. I wasn't aware he failed to make them team in 2007, but one has to think some of his races were under prepared and with financial incentives in mind, as he still holds the U20 WR for 10,000m and halfmarathon even with the arrival of the super shoes.
