I know a few athletes who did not meet the standard for NBIN and NIN, yet still were able to compete. Can I still enter if I do not meet the standard, lets say I am a few seconds off. Also, will I have to pay the fee before I am accepted? If anyone knows anything about this subject pls comment bellow

This is my experience. Maybe it helps.
For Nike Indoor Nationals my daughter was 4 seconds off the qualifying standard for the middle school mile. I was told to put her entry in anyways. So I entered her at least a month before the meet and was accepted in about a day.

Qualifying marks are supposed to separate the wheat from the chaff, but are often artificial barriers. This is my experience:
Back in the day I was four tenths of a second short of qualifying for the National Championships in the steeplechase. My coach used the eraser end of the pencil to change that. As a result, I ran the fastest time in the qualifying heats, leading every step of the way. Then, two days later, set the American Record in the final.

According to the regulations of the New Balance Nationals or Nike Nationals, to compete in this tournament, you need to qualify for registration and participation. If you do not meet the criteria, you cannot officially compete in this tournament. These standards are often set to ensure the competition and quality of the tournament.

Why does this sound like it was written by ChatGPT?
Yes but what is the point in going if you do not meet the standards? A t shirt and backpack? If you really want to go there’s nothing stopping you but it will be an expensive trip
entry guidelines are just that...guidelines.... exceptions under extenuating circumstances are often taken into consideration, on a case by case basis.
